Protect Against Radiation

A heterogenous beam of Xrays is produced by an Xray generator, and is projected toward an object. Xrays were put to diagnostic use very early, before the dangers of ionizing radiation were discovered. SInce then, radiation protection products have found their place on the market, protecting people from the threats of radiation.

A week after discovering the Xray, Wilhelm Rongten took an Xray photo of his wife’s hand, which revealed her wedding ring and her bones. The first dental Xrays were made the same year they were discovered, which was 1895. Today, lead aprons, lead glasses and other Xray accessories keep people safe from the damage the radiation can inflict upon them.

Interestingly, Xray technology is so powerful that it has shown there are at least more versions of the Mona Lisa under the visible one. Xrays are not toys, and they should be used only by Xray technicians and people trained in using Xrays. Radiation protection products like leaded glasses are a must have for people who expect prolonged exposure to Xray radiation and Xray technology.

  1. I live very close to a nuclear reactor, and I always thought about being safe against the radioactivity that goes on around there. I know its not a real concern, but still radioactivity scares me a lot and I want to avoid it.

  2. When I was in college, I interned at a power company and they made us wear radioactive protective material all the time. It was our precaution and we had to do it, there was nothing we could do to get out of it.
